Do I Qualify?
Qualification for our program requires the following:
- Live in Skagit County for a minimum of one year. NOTE: request consideration if living outside of Skagit County.
- First time home buyer. Applicant must not have owned a home during the previous 3 years in order to receive federal funds, excluding those who meet the following exceptions:
- A displaced homemaker who owned a home with his or her spouse or resided in a home owned by the spouse
- A single parent owned a home with his or her spouse or resided in a home owned by the spouse
- Earn an income up to 80 percent of the area median income (Skagit County Area Median)
Next Steps
Once you qualify for our program, proceed to these next steps:
- Schedule a consultation and/or application review appointment with Home Trust staff.
- Once you receive the HTS approval letter:
- Attend a homebuyer education class from your local lender or visit (insert link) & provide certification of completion.
- Qualify for a mortgage at any qualified lender.
- Your mortgage lender and Home Trust work together to get you into an affordable home.
